Hi,
there are a lot of features missing. There is currently only a German comparision available (not official): http://www.illyaine.de/index.php?page=Wbbvslite
With the new website you can just purchase every time the service you like.
Let's say you bought Standard service and you purchase Professional service with the new website, you will get the pro service first. When it expires you are still having the unexpired standard service.
Hope thats understandable
We give assistance, but we wouldn't create the style for you. We can do the service for you, but then you need to ask by email. We will check your current layout and give you a quotation for our service.
What do you mean with special optimizations?
Hi Gene,
in addition to what Harald wrote: We are currently offering an addon for free for vbulletin users who switch to us:
http://www.woltlab.com/news/588_en.php
Auto-Title (mod): Enter URL, and the display automatically picks up the title bar.
I haven't heard of a mod that can do this. This works only with internal links in the forum. External links don't have this feature and I don't know an addon in the community.
Ad Management (mod): We're able to insert ads in the header, footer, below nav bar, post bit, and between posts. Critical.
There is an admanagement in the community: http://community.woltlab.com/db/index.php?page=Project&projectID=1085
It contains an English translation.
Embed YouTube and Other Videos (mod): By simply entering URL and/or embed code, the video appears in a rectangular display for playback direct from message window
Yes - we offer this as a free plugin.
Global Announcement/News: Check our most popular forum at www.theparacast.com/forum and you'll see how it works. We have separate announcements for Guests and Members. For the latter, vBulletin puts in a code that displays their usernames. We have slightly hacked the header code to confine the announcements strictly to the index page.
I think there is a mod in the community. Our announcements are just sticky threads in the forums.
SEO-friendly URLs and meta tags (mod): Critical for us. Also, is our existing URL structure translatable to yours somehow?
It's also a free plugin thats included in our software package. I think the URL structure is translatable. If you need our help I suggest you to get the professional license, because the professional support would cover questions like this.
Accurate Conversion: We're using vBulletin 3.8, actually. You list 3.7 as a version for translation. Problem? What's captured and what's missed?
That should work. We can only import data thats included in our software. I can give you a list of the data later.
Warning System: Integrated with the ban capability, the act of giving someone a sufficient number of points automatically bans that member for a fixed period of time -- or permanently.
There is a warning system in 3.1 that can do this.
Social Networking: You can provide links to social networks. We just inserted ShareThis code into a customized nav bar item.
There should be a mod in the community.
Donations (mod): Able to receive donations from members who want to help cover our costs.
There is a mod in the community - I am pretty sure. Other than that you can simply change a template and include some html code that does that.
Hi,
these are all technical support questions. Please ask them in our support forums. In this forum only presale questions will be answered.
I Read Dan Brown: Meteor (maybe the english name is the same).
You will get 3.1 then.
Hi,
please write me an email with your exact address that you would need on the invoice.
Hi - I have a 24inch screen as well. Fixed width is not unprofessional. I know many big news pages that have fixed width. It makes it easier to read text. Thats what its all about. But it's a matter of taste.
Do you see the curved header. This can only be done through a graphic. If you want another width the graphic has to be remade.
Not really - the style is not intended to be changed a lot. Colors are ok, but not layout. If it would be more flexible it would loose its unique style.
Only if you make a new graphic and change individual CSS.
The direct answer is there is no such addon from WoltLab.
1. I recommend to delete all addons that are not from WoltLab. Or ask in the community for each addon.
2. if there is one yes, but I don't know any. Please ask in the WoltLab-Community (WCom).
No, it is still work in progress.
There is no release date yet. Maybe in the next 1-2 months.
Hi,
our purchase page clearly states that a Basic license just contains version 3.0.
If you need 3.1 you need to wait for the release, buy Standard or Professional.
Now you can just purchase the update extension in your members area.
We decided to change our update servers to circumvent some problems and to make it easier for you to understand the structure. For each WCF branch (1.0, 1.1, 1.2) there is an own update server. There are no servers anymore for special versions (stable, unstable, testing).
Current update server
http://update.woltlab.com/horizon/ (is also still available at http://update.woltlab.com)
You will find all packages here that build upon WCF 1.0 (codename Horizon). -> Burning Board 3.0 Sunrise
New update server
http://update.woltlab.com/tempest/
Contains all packages that require WCF 1.1 (codename Tempest). Please note that all packages on this server are currently beta versions. This server is currently "unstable" and will be "stable" hopefully soon. In other words: Burning Board 3.1 Volcano is now available through the automatic update.
Warning: Adding the tempest server is currently only recommended for test purposes and not intended for productive use.
Thanks for the hints.
As said it works but you do loose some parts, and every member will have to request a new password also.
The same thing might happen with the official importer, because passwords are stored with different encryptions.
