Why not just upload a new favicon to the wcf/images folder? I like using Dynamic Drive to create ico images http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/ .
That site you link is very basic and seems to create only one favicon.ico file. Which will look very pixelated when using that as the image for other places beside just the browser tabs favicon.
The site I was using created various sizes and formats for different browsers and devices. It's very simple, I just detailed the steps so that people who want a browser tab icon can do it from the way I outlined it in this thread.
check out their FAQ for a better explination.
P.S. I'll be updating the original post in a couple hours. I missed a screenshot for the settings on the generator so that you can get even more favicons shown in their FAQ in this post
We will be using realfavicongenerator.net
note: I have no affiliation with that site. Its free, simple and works with no registration required. Also, it outputs favicons of various sizes and formats for a variety of browsers and mobile devices.
First you'll need an image to start with. Their recommendation is: Submit a picture (PNG, JPG, SVG...), at least 70x70. Your picture should be 260x260 or more for optimal results.
after that. Select the XHTML tab for the proper code. Download your favicon package, then extract that zip file to a folder so that you can transfer it to your website. Also, copy the code given. That code goes into Burning Board
Then clear the cache:
ACP > System > Maintenance > Cache
then click the button to Clear Cache.
You may also have to clear your browser cache.
That's it. You should now have browser tab icons or favicons customized to your liking.
Hello, no plugin necessary.
ACP -> Appearance -> Templates -> List Templates
Then, choose the headInclude template and add your Google Analytics code.
If you need to add a template group this may help: How to Edit Templates ? (4.1.x)
You don't have to do this via apache2- or vhost config. Simply add a .htaccess in the wcf directory:
A few results I did find while Googling showed more complicated url rewrites in .htaccess, I didn't find a solution as simple as yours.
I wanted to hide the folder structure from showing up on a webpage at www.mydomain.com/wcf/ and tried searching the forum But I wasn't able to come up with anything, or maybe I was using the wrong search terms.
EDIT: See second post for a better solution
I'm on Debian linux with Apache.
sudo nano /etc/apache2.conf
ctrl+w then search for: <Directory
edit the directory for the root of your domain and add Options -Indexes to it.
then save the file and restart apache.
It may be good to make a copy of the .config file before changing in case you accidentally hit a key somewhere in the apache2.conf file while looking for the directory to edit.
thanks. I did come across that post before asking here, but figured it was over a year old and on another forum that I wasn't sure if it worked or not.
Attached are some pics of the install process and settings for others who may be searching for the same issue.
Also, here is a link to the page for Custom Pages discussion: http://www.mobahner.com/wcf2te…php/Board/10-CustomPages/
How do we create a custom page? Similar to the woltlab forum footer. I'd like to add disclosure, contact, etc...
Say for example I wanted to put a link in the footer to a custom Disclosure and want the page to look similar to all other pages.
I've found a few suggestions over the past year in my searches that suggested older plugins, but they appear to be defunct.
ACP > Appearance > Page Menu > Add Menu Item
if you want, I just set up my favicons a few days ago. and I found a site that resizes images and gives you code to enter into the <head>
it gives icons for various chrome and apple apps/browsers.
heres the link to that thread: How can I enter code into the <head> section of pages?
if you do that, the images it generates go into the same folder as the favicon you just updated.
where did you put the .ico file?
for the sidebar you can change the order and rearrange which widget to use in it.
ACP -> Apearance -> Dashboard -> Configure Dashboard Pages
then edit whichever page you want. there are allot of options.
because a time out occurred
I'm not great with css or anything, I usually just hack away at things. So I do not understand the full meaning of how to fix this overlap.
But, this works. adding padding to the div.userTitle
div.userCredits is right below this, and maybe some other plugins or badges, etc.. But it appears div.userCredits is attached to the bottom of the userTitle container, so it adjusted itself along with the change to userCredits.
with the top padding changed from 7px to 60px it seems less distracting. But i do not know if this will interfere with anything else in burning board, or mobile viewing
you're welcome. I never noticed that reflection myself, but now that you mention it, it does look a little sloppy if you don't notice its a reflection
it looks like a reverse reflected img.userAvatarImage of your avatar pic. Sorta like looking into a reflecting pool of water with a gradient fading it out.
maybe its in the code for the avatar
yes, here it is:Code
When i uncheck the webkit it removed that shadow
Read page 8 of the user manual for installation basic instructions that you're asking questions about and not thanking people for helping with: https://www.woltlab.com/attach…al-burning-board-4-0-pdf/
why start another thread? need help! with uploading site
Cpanel > MySQL databases > create new database then create a user and give all permissions, then add that user to the database
do you have access to cpanel?
I'm just starting to learn more about user groups myself.
The Burning Board 4 Manual starting on page 28 talks about users/groups and page 31 talks about adding user groups:
ACP -> Users -> User Groups
