Is there a quick way to delete a thread? The two step process of moving to trash bin is a little strange. Also is there an easy way to delete all threads from a member and ban that member? vb3 had this for spammers. It was very easy to stop them and delete all their junk quickly.

I'd like to migrate to BB, but I have a few small plugins that I can't live without and the BB addon system seems a ton more complex than vb3 which I am used to. Does anyone know of a BB developer that I can hire?
-
Is there a tutorial on how to make a package/plugin? I'm used to vb3's very relaxed and easy plugin system. BB seems much more strict and formal. I am a novice with PHP/JS. Essentially I have a small custom plugin I use that I need to translate over. If I can't figure it out on my own, are there coders that will do work for pay?

@dethfire I can't find any demo associated with your user account or your email address. Please send me an email to ebert@woltlab.com and provide me with the details on the specific demo. Please be aware, that already expired demos will be automatically purged and can neither be extended nor restored. If this is already the case, feel free to request a new demo.
ahh ok, I'll request a new one. But it must be from a new email?

I can get 3 more days on my demo?

Not yet, I'll be upgrading my 4.5m post forum to either Xenforo or BB. All depends on the next release of each. I really am enjoying BB though.

For some reason I can't post in the BB suggestions for so I'll just add it here.
StackExchange has always had a "Check for similar thread before posting a new one" ajax style feature. Forums suffer from a huge amount of duplicate topics. I think this feature should be in the base package and not an add on.

Does BB support SSL?

I'd like to see a no index meta tag option then. Duplicate content can be a problem with Google. Just recently I had to clean up a yahoo news feed I was importing for 7 years.
I'm not going to make a big deal out of this, don't worry

I think RSS to thread is a mistake. Google just sees this as thin content or spam.

Is there automated bounce email handling or in the works? My forum is 13 years old and as you can imagine 80% of email accounts now bounce. I must have some way to manage it or we'll be blacklisted from email servers quickly.

Thanks! Am I correct that it will always look to load the default templates first but if there is an edited template for the selected group, it will use that instead?
-
You have to create a new template group beforehand. This ensures that you can never destroy the original templates by accident.
I made a new group, but how do I import the standard templates into it so I can edit them?
edit: I see I can copy it to the new group. Interesting. I assume there is a setting to make the forum use the edited templates from my new group?
-
Thanks! For the scripting language, how do know what the possibilities are if they aren't documented?
I am in the demo and trying to edit a template but all the edit icons are grey and unactionable.

Hi,
What exactly do wish to know about? Consider giving an example. Burning Board ships with a powerful template scripting language (the syntax is inspired by Smarty).
Interesting, is there a public manual for this?
I make a ton of use of vB conditionals like <if condition="$show['member']"> <if condition="$post['userid'] == XXXX"> <if condition="is_member_of($post, XX)"> etc etc
-
I assume there is a good list of template conditionals to be used?

Hi,
Tags are not imported.
Any plans to include that? It's mildly important for my community. Seems like a fairly straight forward import?
-
What about tags? Are they transferred?
-
Thanks for the info. Once 4.1 is released I'll make preparations to transfer. Having the ability to use Sphinx search would also expedite my decision.
