Does anyone know where all the users' timezone information is stored? I couldn't find it after a few minutes of looking around in the database.
Thanks, I'll give it a try until I have bought BB3.
You can do it by editing the source code. However, there's only a German tutorial available how to do it.
In Burning Board 3, you can do it without any plugins while editing the user group permissions.
Could you provide me with the tutorial? I have a friend who can translate it and help me with it.
Is there any plugin to change usergroup (rank) colors? I haven't found any. Or is it possible to do this by editing the source code? Also can this be done in Burning Board 3.1 without plugins?
Sorry if this question already exists but I haven't found an answer for the Lite version.
Oh, I completely forgot the cookie settings there. Thanks, problem solved.
The cookies of BB3 seem to be readable only in /forum or wherever the forum is installed. I would like to read the cookie values (wcf_userID) of currently logged in user in the root folder of my website. Is it possible to change the cookies to be available in / (root) or is there any other way to do this?
I tried the code in the tutorial but I'm not sure what should I change in it. I changed the path where index.php is but it gave an error. Is there something else to change?
here is a tutorial/script for external login page https://technex.org/index.php?page=TutorialsEntry&tutorialID=17
Thanks but it seems to be in German. Is there any tutorial available in English?
I would like to create an external website that can be accessed by logging in with Burning Board username and password. I created a form that uses sha1 but the password is different than the one in the database. I'm not very advanced with MySQL yet but I believe it happens because salt is enabled. Is it possible to create an external login page like that? For example by using sha1 and salt in the password that gets checked from database or should salt be disabled to do that? Or is there any other way?
I'm planning to buy WB3 soon. Will it be free to upgrade from WB3 to 4 when it's released? Or should I buy Updates and Support extension for one year to do that?
I contacted my host provider's support and they said the problem is fixed now. I tried reinstalling Burning Board but I got the same error. I also sometimes get this error:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, firstname.lastname@example.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Thanks for the reply. So should I now reinstall the forum? I still have the old installation partially installed. It still has WotLab Community Framework installed and I can't find a solution to uninstall it. Should I delete the whole database and files on the server?
I tried to install Burning Board Lite 2 today. After the database connection screen it started installing. After a few minutes it gave a fatal error and stopped installing. Could someone help me with installing the forum successfully? This was the error code:
