Looks like you are using an image instead of a font awesome icon. In that case, use FTP, fetch a copy of the dislike image, add red tone to it and re-upload replacing the existing image. That should fix it for you.
Can I move the "like" and "dislike" buttons apart a bit. Or just put something in the middle of them

Just curious as to what you mean here Dilip that you tried it on my forum.
EDIT
Anyway, where should I add the code? If I add it in ACP>customisation>styles>Nexus Blue>advanced>individual CSS and SCSS nothing changes.
-
Splinter doing on browser level. Goes away after a refresh of the page.

Is that your default style ? Did you save it after adding the code ?

rabtech Just in case you are not skilled enough with graphics. Simply replace the dislike image you have now with this one

Ok, I have done more probing and this is what I have come up with.
And it makes no sense to me at all. I was so happy when you said that the icon was a simple file that I could change... I immediately opened up my ftp program and got busy digging into the folders. However I never found it.. I did however find the element by inspecting the item.
Here is all I can tell you about it...
the buttons link to a file called map.png and it is a single image with all the icons in it. Not sure what to do with that.
Here is the path to it.
http://slingshotinfo.com/wcf/icon/vCollection/map.png
And here is the image
You have spent to much time on this already. I really appreciate your help. I just wanted to let you know how far I have got with my discovery....
If I am just a stones throw away from a solution let me know. Otherwise don't worry about it... It was a good try......

rabtech Replace the map.png with the attached map.png . That should work.
PS : Make sure that you have the backup of the original file before replacing.
Happy to help

Yes, I hit submit as usual but the colours don't change. Nexus Blue is our default style.
-
Dilip that worked perfect. Thanks for helping me . I see how that works and can make changes now on my own.

It should work if your theme's custom CSS has it at the bottom of the page. After adding the code, try CTRL + F5 on the browser. See if it brings the change on your forum. There is nothing much we need to do to get it activated.

Glad it is ok for you now.

This isn't working mate.
I put the code in Own Declarations>Individual CSS and SCSS and it doesn't change.
I haven't disabled style protection as it's recommended not to.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, so exactly where should I put this code?
Variable override or own declarations? Where did you put the code?
-
I did it through the browser in the CSS part.

Many thanks to Dilip and marcbelgique for your help on this one.
In the end I went to Global CSS and input the code as per the images.
