New Features in Burning Board 4.1: Improving the ACP (Part 2)

Copy User Groups

Existing user groups can be used as a template to create a new group, optionally inheriting the group members and permissions attached to it.

Default Notification Settings

We've added a new form which grants you control over the default notification settings, supplying new users with a custom set of settings tailored for your site. This explicitly does not affect existing users and users still have the right to customize their own settings.

Improving the User Search

We've made some additions and improvements to the user search, easing the process of finding exactly the users you were looking for. One nice thing is the ability to search for users which have not filled in a specific profile field.

You can now search for users which fall in between two ages.

The result list can now be extended with various other fields, e.g. the date of last activity.

Improved Display of ACP Search Result List

Searching for permissions can cause some confusion if the exact same permission exists in different contexts. We've added a small indication for the parent categories, allowing you to easily recognize which item from the result list is what you were looking for.

I'm loving 4.1 more and more :)

For example, if we have two threads in various forums with the same title. It might be useful to have a similar recognition.

What do you mean on the Board side?
These are displayed when you as an administrator are within the admin control panel /acp/ and use the search.

This feature will be implemented on the board side?

4.1 is really growing on me! Can't wait to have a hands-on test ;)
