• I've been using different kinds of forum-software but nothing like burning board 3. In the user groups section there is "Everyone" and "Guest". What is the difference?

Usually its only Administration, Guest, Moderators, Registered users, and Super Moderators in the other forum software.

  • "Everyone" is for EVERYONE, all groups. What I do is basically turn off and disable everything for group "Everyone". Then the same for "guests" group. Then registered, staff groups will still have permissions to do the basic things and you can fine tune those groups accordingly. If you keep "Everyone" group settings alone / default and same with "Guests" group, then you'll have "guests" posting in all your forums, like other normal groups can. English users are used to other software like you said, so to do this, just basically deny both "Everyone" and "guests" groups from being able to do anything.. Then just fine tune the other normal usergroups for whatever you want them to do or not.
