How to get rid of the "welcome message" for guests?

  • Hi there,

    is there any implemented chance, which will not be gone after an update, to get rid of the "welcome message" for guests?

    In our bulletin board nobody shall be register by themself, that why we don't need this message.

    And if there is a switch to trigger, where is the data stored for the help. Because we have to get rid of this section too.

  • I think the easy way of doin it is by commenting out the line

    PHP
    {if $this->session->isNew}<p class="info">{lang}wcf.user.register.welcome{/lang}</p>{/if}

    in header.tpl , but im not sure.

    That worked peferctly, after I figured out how to generate a new template etc. :-)

    But I think the bigger problem will be the help. There are so many thing I have to get rid of :-(

  • You have also the possibility to just change the messages (and not get rid of):
    In your ACP, go to
    design->language->english

    language category: wcf.user.register
    string: Welcome.

    That is for the welcome message. To change the messages on the help part:

    language category: wcf.help.item
    strings: register.register.description. There are also other strings you can have a look, depends what you want :)

  • Hi Guiwald,

    No this wouldn't be that easy! I need to change all strings in all languages. In English won't be a problem, but I don't know any french nor chinese or whatever :-D

    So the other way was the easiest and further on working method for me. Thanks anyway!
